Novaskin is actual trash like just don't use it ever Cloning is really useful for efficiency and I love the ability to focus on one specific part of the skin by control-clicking on it for getting detail on that specifically and the zoom is intuitive and great too. The learning curve of PMCSkin3D might be a lot if you're trying to transfer from Skindex which you could do if you really wanted, in my opinion the efficiency and freedom you gain is greater than the time it would take you to learn a new skinning program however the ones mentioned before this are fine too. PMCSkin3D is the one I and a lot of skinmakers use, don't get me wrong amazing people make amazing skins with Skindex but I'd recommend PMCSkin above all else because it has the most room to grow into. Skindex is the one a lot of beginners use however it lacks loads and loads of features like HD skins, transparency, the ability to change keybinds, its zoom is hard to use and not very functional, you can only edit a skin with the whole outer layer on or the whole outer layer off, and literally it lacks like all of the features PMC has over it. Literally just like way to comprehensive here:īlockbench is fine and if you use it I have nothing against you and it has the benefit of being a desktop app, a solid pick but it's more for Mincreaft Model-making, still good for skins though.
